Introduction of Józsefváros Municipal Enforcement (Józsefvárosi Rendészet)

Local Municipal Enforcement Officers (Körzeti rendész)
Local municipal enforcement officers act as “good caretakers,” watching over the safety of their assigned areas. Their task is to maintain direct contact with local residents, organisations, shops, businesses, and institutions to ensure that various problems reach the municipality and that solutions can be found for them as quickly and efficiently as possible.
In addition, municipal enforcement officers take part in various crime prevention programs, inform and assist victims and residents who may potentially become victims, and provide direct help with issues affecting community coexistence among residents. Local municipal enforcement officers maintain contact with the police officer responsible for the given area, allowing them to act more effectively and quickly against offenders, in coordination with the work of the police, when necessary.
If you encounter a problem in your neighborhood that has remained unresolved for a long time, if you would like to discuss it in detail with a staff member of the authority, if you have suggestions or observations regarding it, or if you feel that solving the issue would require the coordinated work of several organisations or organisational units, it is worth contacting the local municipal enforcement officers. The officers have been working in their respective areas for years, and therefore possess extensive local knowledge and experience.
Feel free to contact them either by e-mail!
The map below provides all the information organized by district:
Municipal Enforcement Officers (Public Space Supervisors) (Rendész (közterület-felügyelő))
The primary task of the public space supervisors is to
- monitor the lawful use of public spaces,
- ensure the compliance of activities requiring a permit or road authority approval,
- and to prevent, stop, interrupt, eliminate, or sanction activities prohibited by law that affect the order and cleanliness of public spaces.
Staff of the Public Space Supervision service also manage and oversee the district’s CCTV system.
If you notice a problem, please send an email to Józsefváros Municipal Enforcement (info@jozsefvarosirendeszet.hu) or report it via the Józsefváros Smart City app, so that we can take the necessary steps.
